The Bubble Rib helps you shape even, rounded bubble walls on cups, planters, and vases. It gives steady control, so your pieces stay consistent from top to bottom.
The small size works well for short planters, small bowls, and tiny succulent pots. The medium size is good for everyday cups, wider planters, and simple desk holders like pen cups. The large size is made for tall vases, big cups, and pieces that need deeper, longer pulls.
Each rib has two curve styles. One side has straight curves that create clean, upright bubble stacks. The other side has angled curves that give each bubble a soft tilt for a more playful shape. You can flip the rib at any time to switch styles. It’s beginner-friendly and reliable for potters who want repeatable results.
Dimensions:
- Small: 3″ x 1.75″
- Medium: 4″ x 2.15″
- Large: 5.5″ x 2.75″

Expertly crafted, fits comfortably in the hand, easy to use, I’m already planning my next reorder!! The medium bubble rib works amazingly! I’m obsessed. It’s the first profile tool I’ve worked with. I typically freehand all my work, but recently my business has been moving into wholesaling and I’m working to make my process as consistent and efficient as possible. Brett was great! He worked with me to ship my tool faster so I can meet my order deadline. The quality of the tool is beautiful.
I got a medium bubble profile rib and was making some really cool mugs. But some of my friends thought the mugs were too big (impossible). So I got the small profile and BAM! Prefect size, great quality tool! Be sure to get some lemon wood butter to keep your tools like new.
I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but the quality seems top notch.
Super fast shipping.
These work great
Fun way to get waves into my pottery. The tool is well made, smooth, and easy to use.
About Us
Stoic Clay Tools is just the two of us, Brett and Rachel, working together in a small workshop in Upstate SC. When we made our first batch of tools in 2023 we realized how much we enjoyed designing and shaping pieces with the same attention to detail that potters bring to their own work. Since then we have come a long way, making thousands of ribs for hundreds of potters in the US and around the world. We are extremely grateful for every potter who chooses what we make to become part of their own process.
